The core of Nova is free, open source, and always will be. The local AI runs on your hardware at zero cost. We're building an optional Nova Pro tier with cloud features and premium voices for those who want more power — but the free version is a complete product, not a demo.
Absolutely not. Every part of Nova runs on your local machine — the language model, speech recognition, and all processing. No internet connection is needed after the initial model download. Your conversations never leave your computer.
Nova runs best on Apple Silicon Macs (M1 or later) with at least 8GB of RAM. It uses Metal acceleration for fast inference. Intel Macs are supported but performance will be significantly slower.
Nova runs entirely offline with zero cost and complete privacy — unlike ChatGPT (cloud-based, subscription).
